2/1/2024 0 Comments The banner saga sigrholmFive Ring Necklace - You get that by keeping the necklace from the dead merchant at the Denglr stone in Chapter 3. There are seven rank 5 items you can get via events, so you can safely miss two without having to buy any. Tl dr: You can get the achievements for morale, not starving, keeping Egil alive and keeping Alette innocent in a single playthrough. That being said, I do agree with you that there's no reason for you to not keep the supplies in the scenario where you fight Onef after he catches up with the caravan. It helps that there's not much fighting in Chapter 4 after you leave Frostvellr, so you don't actually need levels that badly. Basically, you need to save all of your renown for supplies until Ubin's folks join up. You'll then be able to buy out all the supplies in Frostvellr at the beginning of Chapter 4 and have renown left over to stock up when you reach Wyrmtoe. In other words, don't level ANYone up in Chapter 2. The real problem is that you need to stockpile renown in Rook's caravan. No need to reload from the previous chapter. If you know a negative event is coming up, just reload from the last checkpoint and stop the caravan at any point before the event happens. All it takes is simply stopping the caravan before a random event happens (you don't even need to rest, just stop and leave again) to change it. First of all, random events are NOT locked in. It's entirely possible to reach Wyrmtoe without starving or getting low morale and NOT accepting Onef's help. ~_~ I don't care how awesome they are, the fourth time you have to sit through them, you will HATE them.) (Frankly, if I wrote the bible, 'unskippable cutscenes' would be a cardinal sin. to quote a ridiculous meme, "ain't nobody got time for that!" So the only way to get a 'reroll' would be to reload from the arrival at Groffheimr, sit through a bunch of talk, a long-ass unskippable cutscene, then whatever you do in or outside Frostvellr, likely including some fighting. If you reload from the point of leaving Frostvellr, the random events are ALREADY LOCKED IN. 'cross your fingers' for beneficial random events, was it? Yeah, about that. but even if you defeat them, you DON'T GET TO KEEP THE SUPPLIES, for absolutely no reason.Īnd as if THAT wasn't enough. If you REFUSE to let him join you at that point, you have to fight him and his men. You know what REALLY pisses me off? If you don't enter Frostvellr (or enter and immediately leave again when you hear what conditions on the inside are like), Onef will catch up with you as soon as you leave, carrying a hefty cartload of supplies with him. And we all know what THAT means in Chapter 6, right? So basically, to get the morale/supply achievements, you have to sacrifice two OTHER achievements. but if you accept Onef's help, he'll join you. that's where you're supposed to stock up for the rest of the journey. And of course, there's the constant risk of random events costing you more supplies.Īnd if I DID manage to get through to Wyrmtoe after trading ALL OF MY REKNOWN for supplies at a terrible rate, then what? Wyrmtoe offers supplies at a MUCH nices 1:8 rate. except it WOULDN'T be, because if you go all the way through the wastes without rest, your morale WILL drop to 'Low'. Even if I traded ALL the Reknown I've GOT for supplies there, it would only BARELY be enough. Crossing the wastes takes 8 days, and the only source of supplies I've been able to find that DOESN'T involve inviting a backstabbing murderer into your party is to buy it at the market. No matter how many supplies you end Chapter 2 with, you're always stuck starting Chapter 3 with nothing but 3 days worth. Seriously, how do you DO that? In my first game, I went into starvation and low morale while crossing the wastes from Frostvellr to Wyrmtoe, and I've now restarted from Frostvellr three times on my current run to try and get around it.
